Prepare to spend the next few months in a dark room with nothing but internet access because Netflix have just dropped the trailer and release date for KJ Apa’s upcoming rom-com.
The Last Summer stars a bunch of your favourite Young Hollywood actors, with Maia Mitchell, Jacob Latimore, Halston Sage and Tyler Posey all joining forces to make what we can only assume will be one the most iconic teen movies of the year.
According to the streaming giant, the plot “follows a group of recent high school graduates as they navigate their way through their final summer before taking off for college.
“As the youths wrestle with love lost and found, form friendships in unexpected circumstances, and take greater control in their relationships with parents, they ultimately decide who they will be and what they will do as they stand on the precipice of adulthood.”
Fans are already losing it over the 2-minute trailer, with one person writing that it’s nice to see KJ taking on a role where he’s actually happy and fulfilled for once (@ Riverdale writers.)
“Archie actually enjoying life and acting his age, what a shocker,” one person wrote, as another said that whoever was in charge of the audition process deserves a hefty raise: “This cast is so random but I feel like they’ll be great together.”
With the movie set to drop online on May 3rd, we don’t have long to wait until it becomes our new favourite obsession.
