Darfur: The forgotten war

Darfur has become a forgotten conflict in recent years.

But it’s still ongoing, and represents a sharp thorn in the side of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. Until recently, rumours circulated that al-Bashir may meet rebel leaders in an effort to broker a peace deal, not just for Darfur, but other conflicts in the country. Today, it’s unclear whether the talks will occur.

In a new episode of The Take, host Imtiaz Tyab speaks to Al Jazeera correspondent Hiba Morgan, who was recently in Darfur reporting on the war that has killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions.
